Now this looks interesting…

As you may remember, the first Medieval: Total War is one of the “Games of my Life”, and, IMO, one of the best strategy games of all time. A second version of it (it’s Creative Assembly’s first sequel ever) should be really amazing.
Here is the MTW2 official page, with lots of great screenshots. Unfortunately, they still insist on showing only battle images, and I’m even more interested in the campaign - which sounds amazing, from the description, but I’d like to see some of it. It’s probably not coded yet, I guess.
The bad news: it should be even more demanding than Rome: Total War, which my puny PC already can’t handle decently. I really must get around to getting rich.

What are the system requirements for Medieval 2: Total War?
Medieval total war 2 wow i loved all the ofer total war. rome ruled i was on that game non stop for about 6
months and now i still go on for a quick battle. but i have look at medieval 2 and it looks a lot better. the best
game ever if it better than rome it must be!
Its requirement is
3.2 Ghz Ht
1 Gb ram
7800 Gt 256 mb ( must) pci ex
and a keyboard and a mouse , monitor and speakers
does it only work on xp or can it also work on melenium ovawise ill buy anova comp. jus 2 play dat game
what are the requirements for it to work well!! so it looks more realistick
Jager
Those specs are BS
According to various official reports I have read on M2TW the campaign will span a larger area than previous games with more of scandanavia, Britain and Russia. Also the option to colonise the American continent will become available after its discover within the campaign. In other words when columbus etc discovers it you can go and fight aztecs. If you go to http://www.totalwar.com/ and look at their screenshots section for M2TW you will see that it has been updated with 1 sceenshot.
Enjoy
Yeah Jager man, where did u pull those specs from? Your arse? Admitadly to plan the game on a decent settings your probably not far off, but there is no way Sega, on there first total war outing are going to make a game that only the top tier of game users can run… My guess would be a minimun specs would be a 6 series card, 6600 or above, around 2 = 2.5 ghz processor and a 1gb of ram, maybe 512 if ur really lucky, but I doubt it. lol
Can it run on an OSX? Tell me its possible
the system requirements for MTW 2 would be around-
CPU - Intel pentium 4 1.5ghz to 2ghz or AMD equivalent (3.0ghz or AMD xp 3000+ recommended)
Ram - 512mb minimum (1gig recommended)
Video - 128mb with pixel shader 2 aswell and vertex shaders (X850 256mb or 6800GTX 256mb recommended) DirectX 9
HDD - Range from 4gb to 10gb of hard drive space aswell as swap files
Sound - at least a 16bit audio card or sound card (creative EAX4 recommended)
Thats about it.
Thax Nightwolf, if the specs are cloes to what you write, Im happy. leter dudes
You suck Jager, your just showing off your own specs you poof!
Can you play it with an ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb sec graphics card?
weird? those are the same as rome’s specs :O
Rome’s specs are fare below for your information :
Intel pentium III or Athlon 1 ghz
256 mb ram
64 mb videocard
2.9 gb free hard disk space
hmm …i think pentium 3 866 mghz , 256mb ram blazing with a 16mb graphic tnt 2 should be able to cater the minimum requirement
i have rome total war with a pentium 4 do u think it will work?
rome works fine so do u think it will work ok
Just Relax guys about the specs for MTW2, just wait till it comes out and then you’ll find out.
nightwolf no offense but ur just saying that cause u have a computer that can install 1 million games and still be fast u got it all souped up i bet and u just know its going to work with your extreme graphics harddrive and ur 99999999999999999999999999 mb space like i said no offense but i just have an ordinary xp pentium 4 rome works i was just wonderin if it worked if u had rome and rome worked and an xp and a pentium 4 i know ur not totally sure but if u have any idea let me know thanx im not tryin to be a fag im just saying
nightwolf no offense but ur just saying that cause u have a computer that can install 1 million games and still be fast u got it all souped up i bet and u just know its going to work with your extreme graphics harddrive and ur 99999999999999999999999999 mb space like i said no offense but i just have an ordinary xp pentium 4 rome works i was just wonderin if it worked if u had rome and rome worked and an xp and a pentium 4 i know ur not totally sure but if u have any idea let me know thanx im not tryin to be a fag im just saying.
according to the FAQ they had with actual developers of the game…the minimum specs for this game are lower than most newer games out today so i don’t see why any of you can’t run it….bottomline if you can run rome total war on anything but the lowest settings you can run this one at least on lowest settings
Actually Phil man, I have a low end computer,
AMD athlon XP 2100+ 1.77 GHZ
512MB DDR400 Ram
Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 128MB
80 GB HDD
Thats about it, its just a basic computer now.
And yes Rome total War works fine Phil, most of the time, I have had glitches and shit but fixed it with patches, I would be surprised if Medieval Total War II worked on my computer.
ur kool nightwolf sry if i made u mad thanx for letting me know hatter
No worries Phil man, if you need anymore help, just ask man, later
someone knows how to download the demo? If rome total war works well will medieval 2 work well?
what are exactly the system requirements of medieval 2?
Depends Chris on your PC specs, what are they and I’ll tell you if you have a good chance of playing the game, later
oh hey Chris are you on right now
Ok guys for a start a processors Ghz Rating doesent mean how fast it is, Instructions per cycle is very important. Id say it will require for decent settings:
AMD 64 3000+ (1.8ghz) or P4 equivalent Intel Pentium 4 531 (3Ghz)
1024mb Ram
X800 too an X1800XT for max settings
random i think itll work
if u can play rome and ur comp. works for it and u have a pentium 4 medieval may be harder to install for me ( by the way rome didn’t work for the first 10 times i installed it) u just have to be patient and im sure it will work
nightwolf do u know some of the specs and isnt it coming out in november
Phil, yeah it should be coming out in november sometime hopefully and the specs for the game im not 100% sure but look at wat I right earlier on before, im guessing the specs would be around there somewhere, randoms looks pretty close too, thats all I can say man, later!
do u have rome nightwolf? not the expansions or anything just rome? if so these are all the playable factions for campaign that i am able to play as ( let me know if u can play as more factions besides these) 3 roman factions carthage, greek cities, seleucid empire, parthians, gaul, britannia, germany, egypt. let me know if u can play as any other factions and how to unlock them. peace
Hey phil, you can go to gamefaqs.com and get all the info/codes to play as other factions in the campaign, even SPQR. But beware that it can act screwy, especially if you play as ROME. Download and install all patches. ALSO: keep an original copy of any files you change, or else it will be a bitch to fix once you screw it up (and you will).
ATI RADEON 8500 USERS: I was having terrible problems with the machine cutting out, and thought it was overheating. I finally updated the driver by going to device drivers in XP (which updated automatically) and all the problems went away. I wish I thought about that 12 months ago!:(
Any ideas on laptop specs, I know a desktop would be preferable but just got a Dell laptop with a 2GHz duo core processor, 2G RAM and a ATI Radeon X1400 (256MB) graphics card?
does and1 have any pictures of the campaign
Mike D: Don’t hold me to it, but I’m sure your video card should be handle ROME at if it is 256MB (sounds a little high for me, but just double check). Just BE SURE TO go to device driver — ATI video driver— and let windows search for an update…. or you might have problems…. Also, don’t get upset if it takes a few install tries to work or if it cuts out on you after a few hours of gameplay… it just happens, no big deal. Just save your game more often as you play. Good luck, and PS. look for it on EBAY, you can save a fortune, and if it doesn’t work, try to sell it back
Thanks Mad Mike, I’m fairly certain it will run Rome alright as my sister’s much lower spec laptop runs it reasonably comfortably, was just checking if it would run Medieval 2? I know the set specs aren’t out yet but you seem to have an idea of the desktop specs so you might have an idea if my laptop specs above would run it.
Thanks!
who do u think will be ur fav faction in med. 2 mine is prob. egypt g2g
i want to play the game with normal to high settings but will i be able to do so with
AMD 2200+ 1.8ghz
512 mb DDR RAM
ATI radeon x1600 pro 512 mb?
(i upgraded the video card :S it used to be 128 mb geforce fx 5200..
((and when will the demo be out?)
goodspeed i meant i wanted to play with the country of egypt in medieval 2. who do u guys want to play as?
Scotland!
Northern England or the Holy Roman Empire
dnaltocS
lol i know i wasnt responding at ur question :S
o sry
i have a prob with the orginal medieval. when i first got it it worked perfectly for 2 years. now i can play everything it works fine except the campagin. i pick my faction and i press start campaign it loads as usual and then goes back to the in game menu, i dont understand. the same thing happened to my friend before it happened to me. i let my friend borrow my medieval cause his didnt work and mine did and i thought this wolud make it work again. so he installed it in his and it still didnt work so he gave it back to me and i tryed to play it on my comp. and now i cant play campaign if u have any idea how to fix it let me know.
hey guys, I have bought a new laptop and was wondering if it wil run medieval II at highest settings. This are my specs:
2ghz dual core
1 gig 667mhz memory
geforce 7900GTX
thanks for the comments.
will a radeon xpress 200 work with it
Koetor, thats a good laptop you got there, especially the dual core processor and the video card it should work well, but im guessing maybe an extra gig of ram would help alot especially for loading times and amount of units you can have in the game, after that i think you should be albe to run the game in full detail so there ya go man.
thanks nightwolf I thought so. I was planning to put an extra gig of ram in it. But I also play at high resolution 1920×1200 will the same specs still be sufficiant then?
I mean will the 1 gig ram be sufficiant for this resolution too, or should I definately go for the 2 gig then?
I got a Radean X600 256 MB Hyper Memory, and thats the only thing I’m worried about. i mean, 2.79 GHz and 1 gb of ram should be fine i think, but im not familiar with the video cards, so if somebody could let me know and tell me if it will most likely be sufficient or not, that would be awesome, thanks.
No worries koeter, about the extra gig, if your gonna play it at that resolution i would get another gig of ram, but higher resolution mainly concentrates on your video card power and memory aswell but your video card should be good enough for that but you should get the extra gig of ram man, later
Mark man, you video card should be able to do the job at low to medium settings im guessing, and do you know what type of processor you have
My processor says intel pentium d
thanks
thanks again nightwolf I will put a gig of ram in my lappie, just to be sure;)
ciao
No worries Koeter happy upgrading, and Mark you have a descent processor man, its dual cored so thats good to here but if you wanna play this game at higher graphic detail, I suggest upgrading your video card if you’ve got the money ok man, and f you wanna know a good list of video cards just ask me ok, later.
yea, i dont have alot of money to spend, but if you got a few ideas that would be awsome. im not looking for top of the line cards, but something that i good enough so that i dont have to worry about the games i buy. thanks alot
Wats up, ok Mark your video card is still decent so dont worry but if you’ve got the money you could get the 256MB X800GT ATI video card and thats a pretty good video card too, but of course MONEY, it cost around $185 if you’ve got that mate, if you dont, dont worry about it dude, your computer should be good enough anyways man, oh yeah thats aussie dollars too, later.
Oh yeah i forgot to tell you if your motherboard works well with nvidia geforce cards, you should go buy one of them, his a list for ya ok mate.
-256MB 7300GS is decent it ranges to 81 to 93 dollars depends wat brand you get, usually the more money the better the brand.
-256MB 7300GT this one is a bit more better in performance and it ranges to 115 to 132 dollars depends wat brand you get.
-256MB 7600GS this ones better of course and price range is to 146 to 163 dollars of course more money better brand.
-512MB 7600GS this one is the same as the one above just more memory really, price is 190 dollars, only one brand of this one.
well thats about it mate so there ya go plus there were way more cards but too dear so i didnt bother to list them, happy buying later.
YOU BASTARDS, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kanamara_Festival
nightwolf will a pentium 4 with idk at least 256 mb work.? also how do u find ur computer specs like the gig and stuff?
im wondering so i can post it so u can tell me if it meets ur estimation of requirements
ok Phil man, the most easy way to do it is right click on My Computer and go down to the bottom and click Properties, it should display your operation system like windows Xp and etc, aswell as your processor and physical ram too. If you wanna check your video card just right click the desktop and click on properties, then click the settings tab, it should display it there, if you wanna see your video card memory just click on advanced settings on the same window and then click the Adaptor tab ok mate, later.
PS, Phil I dount it would work with 256MB of ram, im guessing at least 512MB minimum and 1gig recomended.
A, who you calling bastard you cockhead
can it run on windows XP?
Wow, I stumbled on this little chat session somehow and well, if it weren’t for Nightwolf, It’d be worthless. Thanks man.
I’ll say defanetly it will run on windows XP and windows Vista for this generation and next generation games on computers, hopefully they wont do it like Halo 2 for PC, it requires the new Windows Vista to run the game, thats just bullshit and a scam from microsoft to get ppl buying the new windows just to get halo 2 for PC, but anyways I think it will, later.
thanks Nate, I have no idea what i done for you but your welcome, later mate!
Hey guys, need a little hint about running Medieval 2 on my laptop. Those are the specs:
HP Pavilion 8000 series
- P IV 3,00 Ghz
- 2,00 GB ram
- 100 GB HDD
- Ati x600 256 mb
I know cpu and ram are up enough to run the game, but i’m worried about my crappy video card. I just use my laptop to work with Autocad, matlab and stuff like that, so i have no clue if it’s gonna be able to run 3D games as Medieval 2. RTW runs fluently though. Let me now. Cya
Andy yeah its all good man except for your video card, if you have the money upgrade it man ok, later
PS good laptop you got too man, later
Nightwolf thanx 4 replying; i still got an inquiry than: is it possible shifting a laptop’s video card? I thought a notebook’s hardware is not upgradable, except for the ram (which i actually upgraded from 512 mb to 2 gb), since a different component, with higher operating temperatures, might alter the original heat flux thus threaten the whole notebook’s stability. Anyway, may you please suggest some notebook video card worth the price for 3Dgames purposes?
Hi, i have the following:-
AMD Athlon(tm) 64X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
NVidia GeForce 7800 GS 256mb
2 GB Ram
59.9GB of free space on Hard drive
would this be okay to meet medium to high end specs on Medieval total war 2
Thanks for any Help.
No worries Andy, you should be able to upgrade your video card even though its a laptop, note book but I dont know laptops and notebooks as much compared to desktop Pc so I suggest to ring up the company of your PC manufacter for eg. HP, Asus, Dell and etc, if you could be bothered or better yet just give me the name of your notebook and I’ll look it up for you and found out k, later man
PS oh yeah if your gonna do all that upgrading, like you said about the heat and all that, try to keep it in a cool place if ya can.
Jas, great PC you got there and of course you would be able to play it in medium detail even high i reckon so you should have no problem, later
thanks nightwolf here are my copm. specs. intel pentium 4 processor 3 gig
chip type: intel(R) 82845G graphics cotroller
DAC type: internal
memory size 64mb
adapter string: INTEL(R) 82845G /GL/GE/PE/GV cotroller
bios info.: intel vidoe bios
256 MB of ram
pretty low specs huh nightwolf. anyway rome works so medieval 2 will work i hope if not whatever
the word on the street is that if your pc can play rome total war, than
it should work for your pc. if you dumb down the graphics
thanks for the info Nightwolf, is there an exact release date for medieval 2 total war in
England, and have the system specs - preferably recommended requirements - been
released yet as were not far from November. P.S. I cannot wait for medieval 2,
Rome and barbarian are good - this one looks like i could be awake all night!
i have a velocitymicro laptop that was great when i bought it . . . 3 years ago. anyone recomment affordable laptop; doesn’t need to be highest end but play medieval 2 with medium settings.
thankx all!
NIghtwolf i couldn’t gather informations about videocards for my laptop browsing the net. Could you please suggest any to me?

( SNIPERKING SEE LAST SENTENCE )
harry monk uhhhhh or nightwolf like that one person said if rome works do u think med. 2 will work on very low graphics? sniperking keep ur screen resolution on low and install the minimum requirments and i almost can guarantee it will work.
harry monk, such a 1024mb 9800GS video card doesnt even exist, and the other requirements are shit too…
what was the fun in saying u work at SEGA?

Thanx!
i think my specs suck!

Medival 2 total war demo will be in the next issue of pc gamer on october 26
deadboymies, does rome work fine on your computer running on high?
Phil, do you run Rome on high resolution with high graphics, and does it still run smooth?…I was just wondering cuz I got that same graphics card as you do with a 2.53 Ghz and I have to run mine with pretty low settings for it to run pretty smooth, so I was just wondering how yours runs.
I want the fucking Medieval II demo to be released. I’m so fucking eager to play medieval massacres on my bloody notebook
deadboymies, does rome work fine on your computer running on high?
yeh it does, sometimes a little bit sloppy when im running it on full graphics etc.
Andy calm down its just a game i want it too
i agree with noname chill
lol dont take him seriously
so what you all going to start as faction wise?
spanish… always play them in mtw :)(online battles i mean then)
im gonna play as the Byzantine Empire
I’m gonna play the turks cos i’m really looking forward to shoot the Basilic cannon, 8 meters long, one shot every 7 hours, olive oil cooled. And the germans too, their infantry is just scary.
Nightwolf where have u gone
yea like the massive one that destroyed the walls of constantinopal
Marcus2 yea when i first got the game the battles were real slow so i kept it on low then my comp. has adapted to the game so i can put it on high settings and it works fairly good. Write me back
No kidding btw, my notebook is thirsty of blood, and i’m going nuts in the meanwhile. I’m so psyched about this game, can’t wait any longer. I’m staring at the totalwar homepage 24/7. My eyes bleed sometimes. It’s been a month now. Even now, while i’m typing, i got the TW window in the bottom left corner, waiting for the demo to be released. That’s basically how i’ve been spending my days and nights lately. Neay uh? I know, i rock. My pudding lifetime supply next to the pc keeps my vital functions running. A huge porn stock keeps me sane.
i never got the 1st medieval total war
i never got the 1st medieval total war
i only have rome which i have 2 run on lowest settings
omfg… get medieval total war its the fucking best game ever
i never got the chess style campign map

combat game in mtw is good by the way in mtw2 what religion you think the aztecs will be
mtw2 is due to be realised in november but play.com say it will be realised on 27/10/2006
my computer meets all requirments execpt, i have Nvidia Ge Force 4 MX,
will this work?
Phil, yeah well thats how mine was to, so im gonna probably get a new graphics card, what kind do you think would be good?? or should I just wait till the specs come out.
deadboymies, I think if you running your games as high as it can go and the campaign map is smooth than I think that you should be fine and you should just get the game and if it runs slow than just upgrade however you have to.
Hi Guys, sorry I havent been around seems like people need some help
i cant find the 1st MTW any more
u can go 2 http://www.totalwar.com for info on the game
Check Ebay Marz99, it should be there man, later
PS, Simora, I doubt it would work with that geforce4 MX, because the game will require pixel and vertex shaders, basically i mean you should upgrade if you can, if ya need any help on video cards, just ask, laters
nightwolf i have:
AMD athlon XP 2200+, MMX, 3DNow, 1.7Ghz
1279mb PC3200 DDR RAM

will i be able to run the game at at least medium settings?
Man im gonna be the italians, and reak some havoc
i cant w8 2 get the game but i think i have 2 w8 around 2 more months bcuz i dont have enough money 2 upgrade my pc 2 the minimum requirements
Guys 1 question do u think it will be EXACTLY the same as the 1st game(the units, factions, etc.) or they will add new stuff (the units, factions, etc.)? P.S thanx Nightwolf!
Goodspeed, your comp should be fine and your CPU should do the job and you got enough ram to run aswell and ecent video card aswell man, later
PS No worries Marz99
Actually Phil man, I have a low end computer,

Kalel man, yeah i know the FX5200 is a shit card, if you got anymore money upgrade fast man if ya wat, and to solve your rome total war problems, tell me wat patch you have for the game aswell as your video card driver forceware version, laters
i wonder wat its expansion packs will be (vikings maybe? like in the 1st one)wat do u guys think?
Hi, i have the following:-
AMD Athlon(tm) 64X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
NVidia GeForce 7800 GS 256mb
2 GB Ram
59.9GB of free space on Hard drive
i have the latest drivers and luckily RTW plays well
but some games play then jump back out onto the desktop
and when i replay them they won’t start at all! not until
i restart the whole PC, any ideas? thanks.
the game in question is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07
I think a good expansion pack would be to expand the map like into asia or more of america
Jas there’s nothing wrong with ur hardware lol v nice… have u tried to reinstall the game or format ur C: and rebuild it?
such are mostly software problems…
(and why would u want to play such a shit game ;))
Kalel man, yeah i know the FX5200 is a shit card, if you got anymore money upgrade fast man if ya wat, and to solve your rome total war problems, tell me wat patch you have for the game aswell as your video card driver forceware version, laters
i have 1.5 patch and forceware version 84.21 i updated today it worked but still aint as fast i wanted thanks for the help kno any apg card thats not super expensive that i can play oblivion 4 on u kno highest settings the x800xt from radeon i was looking at but it was around expensive 300
Nightwolf, Do you know anything about the Intel 82845G graphics card cuz thats what phil and I both have…Is it any good? does it have shaders cuz I cant figure out if it does?
No worries Kalel, yeah about forceware drivers, it depends sometimes, some make games go faster and some you cant even tell but they are handy, anyways about a new AGP video card that one you mensioned is a good one from ATI but yeah it can be expensive, go check ebay man cause i saw the X800GTO platnium edition just under 200 bucks if you got that, but also look for the 6 and 7 series geforce cards cause even the cheap ones can perform well sometimes, but dont get anything below the 6600 geforce card, they suck balls hahahahahaha, but yeah anyways there you go, if ya need anymore help just ask its all cool, laters
Watups Marcus & Phil, about the video card you got, i dont want to hurt your feelings but its SHIT, lol its an intergrated video card. (built into the motherboard) I would reccomend you to upgrade your video card fast if you want to play this game plus i need to know if you at least have a AGP 8 times slot, cause if you do and you got money aswell, you should upgrade fast, if ya need help on anything just ask, laters
Hey guys wat video card is nice BUT the price is not 2 high?
I gots the followin:
Pentium 4 HT 3.2 GHz
Radeon X300 series
1 gb RAM
Sound card is kinda crappy, but am upgradin next month
I got it over a year ago and can play Rome without any problems. Read some of the posts tho and u guys are worryin bout if M2:TW will work on a higher spec PC.
Do i stand a chance or is it best lookin at new PC?
No worries Kalel, yeah about forceware drivers, it depends sometimes, some make games go faster and some you cant even tell but they are handy, anyways about a new AGP video card that one you mensioned is a good one from ATI but yeah it can be expensive, go check ebay man cause i saw the X800GTO platnium edition just under 200 bucks if you got that, but also look for the 6 and 7 series geforce cards cause even the cheap ones can perform well sometimes, but dont get anything below the 6600 geforce card, they suck balls hahahahahaha, but yeah anyways there you go, if ya need anymore help just ask its all cool, laters
pretty low specs huh nightwolf. anyway rome works so medieval 2 will work i hope if not whatever
that’s a low end computer u got there phil, does rome really work well? i dont think mtw2 will work with that video thing u got, you will really need to buy yourself a new video card and some extra ram, ur processor should be o.k. tho…
o and nightwolf i used to have the same specs as u have
AMD ahtlon XP 1.8Ghz
512mb DDR400 (now 1280mb)
geforce FX 5200 128 mb (now 7600GS)
you have the same computer? (MEDION MS-7027?)
phil ur video card is probably not even compatible with directx 9.0c and/or doesnt have shaders so u really need to upgrade… i think ur motherboard will be pretty old now too so maybe a good video card doesnt even fit in… maybe u should buy a new pc
most Graphic cards should be able to run it on low detail
I have all the system requirments, screen resolution, pentium 4, disc speed, memory, MB, i just don’t have enough RAM ( at least i dont think) will i still be able to play
goodspeed ROME works very well on high settings, so do u think i might have the SLIGHTEST chance i can play MTW2 and yes it is compatiable with directx 9.0, what if i dont have shaders?
would mine work noname would my graphic card do it? yes rome works perfectly fine once again ( over perfect almost no glitches) goodspeed. write me back u 2
My other computer had 256ram and i could run games with 512 perfect
your gpahic card should run low perfect not sure about medium
