this will never happen :( - i remember hearing this news a few years ago and getting excited but it'll never happen. I put more faith in the timewarp project but that seemingly will never turn into a real game either beyond the melee portion. lame. why wouldnt these guys just want to make one themselves? even as a side-project type secondary company idea or something.. i mean their other games are crap and starcon ruled.

Well Well Well, three holes in the ground.
Go, Toys for Bob
You can do IT
There is several generations of gamers waiting on your unique and quirky style of game development that all the graphics and explosions in the world can't replace.
PLEASE to the power of 42 is about as *camper* as I can get.

Yours *Slippery*

Activision will not ruin the game.

If Toys for Bob create another Star Control game, they will firstly have to re-name it as Atari own the rights to the name, "Star Control" (Accolade owned it, until bought out by Infogrames, who renamed to Atari). Luckily, Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III own the rights to the material within the game.

Also, if they make a new game, they will demand full control. The fact that Star Control II was in essence a rush job due to Accolade's persistence in getting the game on shelves is THE reason why Fred and Paul refused to have anything to do with Star Control III. That, and the fact that they were unpaid for months of work.

Activision will merely be the distributor. If another game is made, it will be because a) Fred and Paul are paid fully for their time, as well as given a better sales royalty and b) Are given full control on the project, unlike those arsehole jerks at Accolade.

Let us also hope that Activision doesn't ruin the game. They have ruined one of my favorites from the early days of games
Many of times.

They re-vamped the original Pizza tycoon with Fast food tycoon. Fast food tycoon was a complete turd. Hard to understand
and much of the game was so sorry that it was rendered unplayable.

Wizards and Warriors was a top notch RPG, Alex bought it when it first came out for my birthday for a cool 50 bucks.
The game was riddled with bugs; the quests were set up in such a way that you can only launch one party (if you did
create another party the quests the previous solved are not there for the other) And since upgrading to XP Activation no
longer supports the game. Before that I did get a patch that was made by fans. Many things will not work in XP. You will
happily play along until you realize that you cannot exit once you enter a town.

Alex if I recall is very fond of star control, and he will be happy to hear if they came out with another one. But I just know
he's going to say lol, "I hope Activison doesn't ruin it" :)
